Trimming of organization unit picker in “Create Workspace Dialog”
Larger companies often have many organizational units. To allow employees to only create workspaces in their assigned or a specific set of OUs, the available OUs in the “Create Workspace Dialog” can now be trimmed.
As we are going to implement the automatic assignment of workspace prefixes depending on the chosen OU and workspace type, we have changed the sort order of the drop-downs and input fields in the “Workspace Creation Dialog”.
Configuration of the availability for various functions
The availability of the following functions or features can now be configured on per tenant:
Seamless App Launcher
The App Launcher displayed next to your user image in the header of the app. The Seamless App Launcher usually is used to link globally available, web-based tools.
Personal Tools
The personal tools are displayed in the Seamless user context. As not all companies provide the users with the personal tools linked in the user context menu, you can now configure if they are available or not.
Modification of assigned AD-Security Groups
With Seamless you can automatically assign user identities or AD-Security Groups to the Managers, Members and Visitors Group of a Seamless Workspace during provisioning. This is an important feature to support your organization by implementing default security and governance.
To avoid that workspace managers delete or change these default permissions, you can now configure whether or not default groups can be removed through the GUI.
iOS 13 Compatibility
With iOS 13, Apple changed its privacy settings to better protect its users. As a result, certain cookies that Seamless uses for authentication were not supported in Safari and Chrome on iOS 13. We have implemented a solution and you can now use Seamless on your iOS 13.
General consistency
Workspace names can change several times during the life-cycle of a project. Having consistent names for all Office 365 objects related to a workspace is important for day-to-day work in a Team. Therefore, when you change the name of a workspace, the name of the OneNote Notebook will also be changed to the new workspace name.
Also, the workspace name, which is displayed in many elements of Seamless, is now consistent.
The distinction of Office 365 Groups and AD Security Groups
The Seamless Team Control does not differentiate AD-Security Groups and groups added by connecting a workspace to an Office 365 Group.
Search improvements
Seamless Search now also returns folders and documents display the path to the location of a file.
Issues with Internet Explorer
Believe it or not, but we are still supporting Internet Explorer! Therefore, we have fixed multiple display issues and functions.
Usability
Toggles are fun, but not so much if you have to be very precise when clicking on them with your mouse cursor. Therefore, you can now activate tools in a workspace by simply clicking on the body of a tool in the available tools.
As our customers are having more and more Seamless workspaces, we have optimized the sorting of workspaces in the “All Workspaces” view on the Seamless Overview and in the Seamless User Context. They are now sorted alphabetically ascending.
Provisioning of secondary site admins per OU and workspace type
Since Seamless 19.3, you can automatically provision users and groups to the different roles available in Seamless. With 19.4 you can now also provision default membership for secondary site admins per organizational unit and workspace type.
