Working with external members is a key requirement of Seamless customers. Therefore, we have improved and simplified the process to invite external members to a Seamless Workspace. Nevertheless, there are requirements to work with external members.
Activation of external sharing on Office 365 Tenant Level
To allow managers to enable the external sharing feature in a Seamless workspace, external sharing must be enabled at Office 365 Tenant level. If, as a manager, you can not activate the switch in Seamless Workspace, contact your Office 365 administrator. External sharing can be turned on as described here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/turn-external-sharing-on-or-off
Activation of external sharing in your Seamless Workspace
As a manager, you can enable or disable external sharing in the workspace settings. Simply use the switch for external sharing and save the settings. As external sharing can take several seconds it may take a moment before the notification of the successful change is displayed. After successful activation you can invite external members.
Invite external users for collaboration
As a manager, you can invite external users for collaboration. To allow external members to access a Seamless Workspace, a Microsoft Account or an organizational account is required.
A Microsoft account (Windows Live ID) is similar to an Apple ID, but provided by Microsoft. A Windows Live ID is a e-mail address and a password that a user chooses. After a user signed up for a Windows Live ID, he can use it on Windows Live sites like Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger, Office Live, Xbox Live, and more.
You can signup for a new Microsoft account here: https://signup.live.com/signup
To avoid overseeing incoming emails from SharePoint, we recommend that external members register their company email address as Microsoft account.
An Organizational account is the account provided by a users work or school to use Office 365 or other Microsoft services. If your external members are using Office 365 in their company, you can assume that the user already has an Organizational account.
