To create a new workspace, your user must be a member of the SharePoint Group “Creators” or you are a member of an Active Directory Security Group that is a member of the SharePoint Group “Creators”. If you are not a member of the SharePoint Group “Creators” your user will not be permitted to create a new Seamless Workspaces. Contact your Seamless Administrator to provide you the necessary permissions.
To create a new workspace, navigate to the Seamless Overview, open the contextual menu in the footer of the Workspaces card and choose “New workspace”.
The dialog to create a new workspace will appear. To create a new Seamless Workspace, enter the following information:
From the drop-down menu, choose the organizational unit, that the workspace belongs to. There is at least one organizational unit available.
From the drop-down menu, choose the workspace type you would like to create.
Enter the name of the workspace you would like to create. Make sure, that the name you would like to choose complies with the naming convention policy of your company and is not longer than 255 characters. The following special characters are not supported.

Enter the URL for your workspace. Make sure, that the URL complies with the naming convention policy of your company.

- No leading or trailing ‘’.’’.
- Max. length 255 characters in the case of a Seamless workspace, 64 characters in the case of a Microsoft Teams room.
- No special characters.
Note: The workspace url cannot be changed once the workspace is created. In case you have created a workspace with the wrong url, contact your Seamless Administrator to delete the workspace and recreate the workspace.
After you have filled in the form to create a new workspace, Seamless will verify, if a workspace with the same URL does already exist. If yes, the create button will stay greyed-out. If the create button becomes active, you can click on the button to start the creation of the new workspace.
Workspace provisioning and e-mail notification
After you have clicked on “create”, the provisioning of the new Seamless Workspace will begin. This usually takes between 2-5 minutes, depending on your tenant performance. As soon as the workspace was successfully created, you will receive an e-mail notification with the link to the new workspace. If the provisioning fails, you will be informed by e-mail notification. In case of a failure, contact your Seamless Administrator.
